The wolf, to me, is the fierce, knowing, intuitive feminine. She moves with instinct, guided by an inner compass that doesn’t falter, even in the dark. She doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful. Her strength lives in her presence, her listening, her deep-rooted wisdom.
The wolf is where all of the paintings in this series emerged. She is both the home and departing point of this work. Inspired by the iconic book ‘Women who run with the Wolves’ by Clarissa Pinkola Estes and my South-African roots, all three pieces in the Wild Women collection speak to different aspects of the wild, untamed nature of the feminine.
